Whats My Note: A Handy Tool for Learning Sheet Music
Whats My Note is an Android app developed by Whats My Note that helps users learn the pitches in their sheet music. The app allows you to snap a photo or import your sheet music and touch notes to hear the pitch. The app is ideal for those who sing in a choir, a barbershop quartet, or any other vocal group.
One of the most impressive features of the app is that you can repeat single notes or intervals as many times as you like. Additionally, you can use Whats My Note to read published choral music, which is commonly used by high school choruses, church choirs, musical theater, and barbershop quartets. If you are unsure whether Whats My Note will read your music, you can email a photo to the developer, and they will let you know.
Please note that Whats My Note does not play scores from start to finish, interpret rhythms, play more than one voice at a time, recognize or play piano or instrumental parts. Hand-written manuscripts and most forms of popular music probably won't work. You can import PDFs and JPEGs and use Whats My Note's OCR feature on any device. However, it's important to keep in mind that Whats My Note requires an 8-megapixel camera to photograph music.
